Incorrect information on your credit report or a bad overall credit report can impact your financial life in any number of ways. False information, a series of late payments, or other bad transactions can impact your creditworthiness, thus impacting your ability to buy a car, a home, obtain a credit card, or in some cases, even get a job. A good credit report can also help you get a loan or a credit card at a lower interest rate, actually saving you money in the long run. It is important to review your credit report at least once a year, and to take action to clear up incorrect information.
You can receive one free copy of your credit report annually from each of the three main credit bureaus by visiting www.annualcreditreport.com
